Full-Time IT System Administrator (m/f/d)

AS OF NOW

Have you been getting a taste of admin work for some time now and are familiar with the day-to-day operations of corporate IT? Are terms like DHCP, VLAN, Entra ID, or Kerberos second nature to you? Even after work, can’t you get enough of technology—whether it’s your own home server, a cloud server, or using AI to achieve your goals? And does the idea of independently managing an entire company’s IT infrastructure and supporting end users fill you with excitement? Then we should get to know each other!

We’re looking for an admin (w/m/d) who will ensure the smooth operation of our entire IT infrastructure and help develop it in a way that’s secure, future-proof, and cost-effective. As our sole administrator, you’ll be supporting around 60 Spirit Linkers—with plenty of creative freedom and the full responsibility that comes with it. Your goal: to keep the infrastructure running, ensure that everyone can work without interruption, and advance our technical collaboration with clients. Your role combines two worlds to achieve this: support and administration. In 1st- and 2nd-level support, you’ll be there for your colleagues with advice and assistance—patiently, even when the same question comes up again and again. You’ll receive support from five tech-savvy users who serve as the first point of contact for simple day-to-day questions. On the administrative side, you’ll find an established environment with a clear focus on Microsoft: Windows clients and a few Macs, Windows servers including SQL Server (on-premises), Active Directory, and Entra ID, as well as Microsoft 365 with Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune. In addition, there are our servers running Proxmox and Docker, the office network, and VPN access.

You’ll spend a lot of time on-site at the office, getting a grasp of the big picture, assessing what’s configured and how everything is interconnected, documenting it, and developing it further step by step. You’ll set up systems and workstations while always keeping an eye on IT security. If something goes wrong—whether on a server or at a workstation—you’ll tackle it head-on, communicate clearly, and resolve the issue. Even when things get hectic, you keep a cool head. Realistically, it takes several months to truly understand a new IT landscape—and we’ll give you that time.
